In the 90's me and a group of friends ( Catherine McKenna, Greg Prince, Bill Poole and myself) produced a documentary called: 60 Days in Indonesia. It is a story of four people backpacking through Indonesia and the experiences they have along the way. We traveled over 1,500 miles across the Nusa Tengara island chain between: Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Komodo and Flores. The trip was hard. We lived together for 60 days on less than 20 dollars a day. We carried all of our gear in our backpacks. We had over 70 hours of video tape, a camera, steadycam, underwater housing, and more. All of my personal clothes and possessions could fit in a pillow case folded in half. I remember how intense the trip was, and thinking that it would be a while before I could understand what it all meant to me. Now looking back 15 years it was a defining moment in my life. I like to say this experience made me a man. The seven months I spent in Asia the summer of 1995 play back in my mind on a daily basis. I can't wait to put the backpack back on again with my kids and see the world through their eyes. I am counting the days

This 48 minute documentary was sold to The Travel Channel (USA), and Outdoor Life Network (CAN). Real Travels averaged over 75,000 TV viewers on OLN Canada, and over 175,000 on the Travel Channel when they aired in the summer of 1999.

The two month production was one hell of an adventure. This quote was something that got me through the entire experience:

"Adventure is delightful to look forward to and back upon, but it is not comfortable at the time, unless it be of such an easy nature as not to deserve the name."
